Established in 1983.
FOCUS The title of Cape Wine Master, first instituted in 1983, is one of the most sought-after formal qualifications in SA wine. To date, 106 candidates have qualified, and a further 3 have been awarded the title Honorary Cape Wine Master. The purpose of the ICWM is to harness the collective ability of CWMs to open the world of wine and brandy to others through knowledge, deep understanding and love for the products. Cape Wine Masters promote wine and spirit education in South Africa at all levels; promote the growth of the wine category and responsible consumption; and, are ambassadors of wine.
