FOCUS Agri Academy is a non-profit company operating countrywide from its head office in Jamestown, Stellenbosch. It provides AgriSETA accredited skills programmes and mentorship to smallholder farmers to help them become commercially viable businesses with sustainable market access. Training and coaching topics are based on a product specific market driven value chain. Farmers are also developed, as a collective, to operate in clusters, as a self-managed collective, to enable them to take advantage of economies of scale and improve competitiveness. Agri Academy also presents a specific youth programme called AgriAppi® – this programme develops young agri-entrepreneurs to become role players in specific value chains. The programme entails training and placement through internships.
