FOCUS: SASEV is a scientific society that serves the wine, grape and related industries by distributing the latest relevant scientific knowledge and information among members through workshops, seminars and biannual congresses and international conferences. A scientific journal, the SA Journal for Enology and Viticulture (SAJEV), is distributed to members and interested parties twice a year. Several prizes are awarded, for instance, the Prestigious SASEV Prize for the most outstanding scientific contribution published in the Journal, Young Researcher Prize for the best scientific contribution (under 35 years of age) and Best Student Prizes (Stellenbosch University (SU) and Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute (KILO).
