Wine Certification Authority (previously known as the Wine and Spirit Board)

FOCUS The Wine Certification Authority, is an organ of state as established under section 2 of the Liquor Products Act, No.60 of 1989, to carry out specific independent and impartial statutory functions governed by the provisions of the Act, its regulations and schemes. As provided for in section 14 of the Act, the Authority administering all voluntary schemes and the certification of wine. The Authority makes recommendation to the Minister of Agriculture regarding the establishment, amendment and/or repeal of all schemes. There are currently three voluntary schemes, namely, the Wine of Origin, Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) and Estate Brandy schemes.
